About this scholarship

What You Get

The Ranke-Heinemann Full Grant covers 100% of your tuition fees for a study programme in New Zealand. The grant is paid in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) within four weeks of the start of your semester. Both undergraduate (Bachelor) and postgraduate (Master, exchange semester) programmes are supported.

Who Can Apply

  • Residence: You live in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland.
  • Age: You are 29 years old or younger.
  • Academic record: You have good school grades (for Bachelor programmes) or good university grades (for Master programmes or exchange semesters).
  • IRH enrolment: You joined the Institut Ranke-Heinemann (IRH) support programme before applying to a university, and IRH has guided you through the entire application process.
  • Place of study: Your study place was arranged through the IRH application centre.
  • Proof of acceptance: You can provide a Fees Receipt from a New Zealand institution confirming your place.
  • No other funding: You are not receiving any other scholarship or financial support for the same study period.

Selection

The grant is awarded on merit. Your grades and a motivation letter (a short personal statement explaining why you want to study in New Zealand) both count towards the decision.

How to Apply

Send your complete application by email to info@ranke-heinemann.de before the relevant deadline. All documents, including your proof of acceptance, must be submitted at the same time.

Deadlines for semester stays in New Zealand:

  • First semester of the academic year: 31 January
  • Second semester of the academic year: 30 June
  • Trimester stays: One month before the official start of the trimester

If your application is successful, you will be notified within two weeks of the deadline. If you do not hear back, your application was not successful.
