Kjellbergska Women´s School Foundation - Kjellbergska Women´s School Foundation Grants

Kjellbergska Women's School Foundation grant

You will receive 18,000 SEK (about 1,600 EUR) for a full academic year. If you only need financial support for a single final semester, you can receive a smaller grant of 9,000 SEK (approximately 800 EUR). You can be awarded this grant up to three times in total. The money comes from a Swedish foundation that supports women from Gothenburg in their further education after leaving school. The payment will be made into a Swedish bank account.

Who can apply

• Gender: You are a woman.
• Level of study: After passing your A-levels, you will go on to undertake further education, such as a university degree or vocational training.
• Enrolment proof: You can provide evidence that you have been admitted to a degree programme lasting at least one academic year.
• Gothenburg link: You have your school leaving certificates from both compulsory education (year groups 1 to 9) and upper secondary school in the municipality of Gothenburg.
• Age: You can apply up to and including the year after you turn 30.
• Field of study: Any topic is allowed.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, provided they meet the admission requirements of the school in Gothenburg. You will also need a valid Swedish identity document and a Swedish bank account.

How to apply

You must apply via the Foundation’s online system between 15 May and 31 August for the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded. The application deadline is 31 August at 20:00. Once you have submitted your application, you will no longer be able to amend or add to it. You will be notified of the decision by email at the end of October.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is narrow by place: you must have both your compulsory and upper secondary leaving certificates from Gothenburg, and be a woman studying after upper secondary school. The applicant pool is therefore local and small. The foundation is also generous with places: in autumn 2025 it approved 442 of 571 applications, so a complete, well-documented application has strong prospects. Most rejections come from a missing ID copy or an incomplete file, so check your documents carefully.
