About this scholarship
What the tuition waivers cover
SDA Bocconi in Milan cuts the fee of its one-year Master in Sustainability Management (MSM) for strong applicants. The full fee is 30,000 EUR. There are four kinds of merit-based reductions, called tuition waivers (fee discounts you do not pay back). The largest cover half the fee: 3 waivers of up to 15,000 EUR (50%), paid by programme sponsors. Six further waivers give up to 10,000 EUR each (33%). A separate pot of 30,000 EUR is split into smaller waivers of 3,000 to 6,000 EUR (10 to 20%). Two more waivers go to active competitive athletes. You can hold only one SDA Bocconi waiver at a time. You may add an outside scholarship, as long as the total does not exceed the fee.
Who can apply
- You must be admitted: Only applicants accepted onto the 2026/27 MSM programme can get a waiver. The waiver is decided during admission.
- Degree: You hold a university degree in any field.
- Work experience: Students average about 3 years of work experience.
- English: The course is taught in English. You prove your level with a TOEFL, IELTS, CPE or PTE Academic result.
- Admission test: You take the GMAT, GRE or SDA Bocconi's own test.
- Documents and interview: You submit a detailed CV and two reference letters, and you sit a personal interview with the programme director or admissions committee.
- Merit: Waivers go to applicants with strong academic and professional records and a convincing selection result.
- Athlete waivers: For these two waivers you must be an active competitive athlete.
- Nationality: Any nationality can apply. The programme runs in Milan.
How to apply
You apply for the master and the waiver together through SDA Bocconi's online admissions portal. The final deadline for both is 28 October 2026. Earlier waiver rounds close on 23 April 2026 and 8 July 2026. Applications are reviewed as they arrive, so applying early gives you better chances. Admission includes a personal interview.
How realistic are your chances?
The waiver pot is limited and there are few places, so the money is genuinely competitive and awarded on merit during admission. Because you first have to be admitted to a demanding one-year programme, the field is already filtered to well-prepared candidates. If your academic and professional record stands out and you apply in the first round, your chances of at least a partial waiver are stronger.
