What the Nordplus scholarship gives you

You will receive approximately 940 EUR per semester (approximately 7,000 DKK) if you are studying at Aalborg University (AAU) and are spending part of your degree programme at another higher education institution in the Nordic region. The money is intended to cover your travel expenses and additional living costs whilst abroad. The grant can be awarded for up to one academic year, i.e. a maximum of two semesters. The scholarship is awarded as part of the Nordplus programme run by the Nordic Council of Ministers, the cooperative body of the Nordic governments.

Who can apply

• Your university: You are studying at Aalborg University (AAU).
• Where you go: You’ll be spending a semester at a partner university in another Nordic country: Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark or Iceland.
• Partnership: There must be an exchange agreement in place between the AAU and your host university. The AAU has agreements with most Nordic universities across all subject areas, and students of engineering and surveying can study at the 14 other Nordic technical universities.
• Field of study: Anyone interested is welcome to apply.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, provided they are studying at AAU.
• Credit transfer: The courses you have taken abroad must be fully recognised towards your AAU degree.
• Full time: During your stay, you will be studying full-time.

How to apply

You apply for a place at a Nordplus partner university via the AAU’s exchange application portal. This application also serves as your scholarship application, so no separate form is required. The application deadline is 1 March for the autumn semester and 1 November for the spring semester.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is open exclusively to AAU students taking part in a Nordplus exchange, so the pool of applicants is small. Your application is submitted automatically as part of your exchange application, so there are no additional hurdles. If your exchange is approved and you meet the deadlines, your chances are good.
