Stockholm University Scholarship Scheme

You get a full tuition-fee waiver that covers 100% of the tuition for your Master's programme at Stockholm University in Sweden. It runs for the whole length of the programme. The exact value depends on your programme, since tuition fees vary. If you already paid tuition before the scholarship is granted, the university repays it, minus a 5,000 SEK fee (about 440 EUR). Stockholm University funds the scholarship itself. Note that living costs are not covered, so you pay for rent, food and daily expenses yourself.

Who can apply

• Level: You are admitted to a Master's programme at Stockholm University.
• Admission round: You are admitted in the first (international) admission round, not a later one.
• Nationality: You are a citizen of a country outside the EU, the EEA and Switzerland, and you have to pay tuition fees.
• Grades: Selection is based only on your academic results.
• First choice: You get priority if you list Stockholm University as your first choice on universityadmissions.se.
• Field of study: Any Master's programme at the university counts.

How to apply

You do not send a separate application in advance. Once the Master's admission results are published, eligible students get a scholarship form by email, sent to the address on their University Admissions account. For the autumn 2026 intake, the scholarship deadline is 30 March, and results come by email on 28 April.

How realistic are your chances?

The award is limited to non-EU students admitted in the first round, and selection is decided by grades alone, so a strong academic record matters most. Listing Stockholm University as your first choice gives you an edge, since these applicants get priority. Because the pool is narrowed to fee-paying international students, applicants with excellent grades who clearly fit the criteria have a fair shot.
